{"slug":"search-notifications","title":"Search notifications","content":"# Search notifications\n\nA long scan can take minutes, and you do not have to sit and watch it.\n\n## What happens when a search finishes\n\n- The result appears in the **Results** tab if you are on the page.\n- A notification row is added to your **notification centre** — the bell in the header keeps the\n  unread count.\n- If your browser has notification permission for DejaBars, you also get a desktop\n  notification while the page is open.\n\n## The notification centre\n\nOpen the bell to see recent items, then **View all** for the full list at `/notifications`. Search\nentries record the search that produced them and take you to the result, so you can pick up where\nyou left off. Mark items as read individually, or all at once.\n\nThe same place carries product announcements from us — new features, billing changes, security\nnotes and maintenance windows.\n\n## Turning browser notifications on or off\n\nYour browser decides whether a page may show desktop notifications. DejaBars never asks for\nthat permission on its own: you ask for it, and your browser then shows its own prompt. If you\ndecline, nothing breaks — the in-app notification centre keeps working either way.\n\nTo change your mind later, use your browser's site settings for https://dejabars.com and allow\nnotifications again.\n\n## Email\n\nProduct news and announcements are only sent if you opt in to marketing email, and every one of\nthem carries a one-click unsubscribe link. Service email — email verification, password resets,\nteam invites and support replies — is always sent, because it is part of your account.\n","category":"guide","version":"37943c1e54a3","updated_at":"2026-09-16T21:05:35.426277+02:00","is_published":true}
